By selling directly to consumers we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass the savings on to our customers.We're hiring a Database Reliability Engineer to own the reliability, performance and scalability of Fuse's data infrastructure. This is a remote role.ResponsibilitiesOwn the reliability, performance and scalability of Fuse's database infrastructure across Postgres and ClickHouseBuild and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines to support analytics, reporting and product needsOwn the design and evolution of analytical schemas, translating business logic into structured, intuitive data modelsMigrate and transform data from Postgres into ClickHouse, ensuring performance and reliabilityDevelop and maintain DBT models that reflect our business domain and make data easily accessible for teamsImplement tests and data quality checks to ensure reliable, trustworthy datasetsIdentify and eliminate duplicates, improve data consistency and enforce clean modelling standardsManage all database and infrastructure changes through IaC, minimising direct DB modificationsRequirements3+ years in a backend engineering or data-focused engineering roleExcellent SQL; proficiency in Python and SQL is non-negotiableHands-on experience with relational databases, particularly PostgresExperience designing schemas and building data models that reflect real-world business logicFamiliarity with DBT or similar data transformation frameworksStrong understanding of data validation, testing and quality assurance practicesManages all infrastructure through IaC tooling (Pulumi, AWS CDK), treating the database as codeGrasps new business domains quickly, translating unfamiliar logic into clean, intuitive data modelsBonus: ClickHouse or columnar databases; cloud-based data orchestration (Dagster, Step Functions); CI/CD for data pipelines and transformations; operating databases at scale in productionBenefitsCompetitive salary and eligibility for equityBiannual bonus schemeFully expensed tech to match your needsPrivate health insuranceBreakfast and dinner allowance for office-based employeesAs we hire globally, benefits vary by location.Job SummaryID: CA5ECCBD7ADepartment:Type: full time
