Software Engineer / Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, Hybrid / £35,000 - £45,000 Per Annum D.O.E.

Are you an experienced Software Engineer looking to join a leader in geospatial services for the Electric Utilities market? At NM Group we’re now seeking an ambitious individual to help evolve our pioneering technology. Required Skills & Experience of the Software Engineer:

Strong Python: Writing and maintaining data pipelines.

Able to solve complex problems.

Excellent written, oral and visual communication skills to explain complex information.

Enjoys and works well in a team-based environment, and is self-motivated to individually succeed.

Understands and implements best practices of modern Software Engineering including Agile

Software Development, Automated Testing, Configuration Management principles and DevOps.

Has the rigour and care to manage and control changes to development, testing and production environments.

Desirable skills & experience:

C# / .NET: experience building libraries and command-line tools with .NET 8.0+.

Comfortable reading and safely modifying existing/legacy codebases; good documentation and PR practices.

SQL Databases: PostgreSQL and SQLite experience (schema design, migrations, basicperformance tuning).

Orchestration & data engineering: experience with workflow/orchestration tools ...
