We're looking for an experienced Lead Engineer – Software Development to join our growing Software Engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the delivery of innovative software solutions that support critical infrastructure projects. You'll play a key role in shaping technical solutions, mentoring engineers and driving best practice throughout the software development lifecycle.

This is a hybrid role based primarily at our Warwick office. Most day-to-day work can be completed remotely but applicants should be comfortable travelling to Warwick on a regular basis as project needs. Ad hoc travel to client and partner sites in Bristol and London will also be required.

What you’ll do:

Lead the design, development and delivery of high-quality, scalable enterprise software solutions across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Provide line management, coaching and mentoring to a team of Software Engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture.

Coordinate technical delivery across internal engineering teams and external software partners, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

Support the successful delivery of strategic software initiatives, driving technical excellence throughout.

Champion engineering best practice, code quality, continuous improvement

Collaborate with architects and apply technical expertise to create innovative solutions to support bids and provide estimate.

Collaborate with architects, stakeholders and cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet business and customer requirements.

Proactively identify technical risks, resolve complex issues and strengthen the team's technical capability through hands-on leadership and guidance .

Who you are:

You're an experienced software engineering leader who enjoys remaining hands-on technically while developing and supporting others. You'll be comfortable leading teams, managing priorities and collaborating with stakeholders, colleagues and partners to deliver successful outcomes. You'll play a key role in shaping technical solutions, mentoring engineers and driving best practice throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Requirements:

Strong experience across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

Proven software engineering background with experience leading development teams

Experience with CCTV and video streaming technologies and protocols

Strong understanding of microservices architecture

Experience developing and integrating REST APIs

Database development experience with both SQL and no-SQL technologies

Experience leading technical delivery across multiple workstreams

Expertise in the following frameworks and programming languages: .NET, Angular, SignalR, C#, JavaScript and Python

Requirement to have SC Clearance or be eligible to obtain SC - Security Clearance for the role
