Project Assurance Manager

The IT2A Project Assurance Manager will hold PMO and Project teams to account in the successful delivery of IT projects within scope, time and budget while adhering to quality standards and WBA policies. You will oversee project assurance activities, identifying risks and non-compliance and defining actions to mitigate. Acting as an independent and objective evaluator, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing the way projects are managed and delivered, providing greater confidence to the business in IT2A’s ability to meet agreed objectives.

About the role
You will:
Develop project assurance strategies and establish appropriate measures and processes to monitor project quality and compliance with agreed standards
Provide regular status updates on the health of the IT2A portfolio, highlighting projects or areas of concern that require action to address
Implement and oversee robust stagegate controls to assess projects against quality thresholds and agreed objectives prior to release of next phase funding
Define risk mitigation plans and strategies to address issues found, tracking to completion and escalating up to IT leadership level as required
Define quality standards and metrics for project deliverables, ensuring processes are in place to monitor these throughout the project lifecycle
Conduct quality assurance reviews to assess compliance with established standards
Recommend and, where appropriate, implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery quality and efficacy
Work with project teams and PMO to identify and close gaps in skills, processes and controls in order to improve the delivery of IT2A projects
What you’ll need to have
Experience project management, IT assurance or related field with a focus on delivering large complex projects
Excellent understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall) and standards
High degree of moral courage, able to hold senior stakeholders to account and challenge with authority
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong and lasting relationships
Proficient in project management tools and artefacts
It would be great if you also have
Certified Project Management qualification (e.g. PMP, Prince2)
