Lead piping engineer

Job Description

  • Lead the piping discipline through multi-discipline projects.
  • Take responsibility for preparing, interpreting and reviewing piping engineering documentation.
  • Preparation and checking of calculations, specifications, schedules, etc.
  • Supervision of piping designers and allocation of work.
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant design codes, standards and procedures.
  • Provide input to cost estimates and execution plans.
  • Plan and maintain the discipline progress of the project.
  • Liaise with other disciplines, departments, project personnel, vendors, clients, etc.
  • Participate in key project reviews; HAZOP, model reviews, constructability review meetings.
  • Assist Principal Piping Engineers in other discipline related activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, ideally a chartered engineer.
  • Extensive experience in onshore/offshore piping engineering in the oil and gas industry.
  • Good knowledge of the relevant Piping & Plant Layout codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of project controls within discipline.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary project environment.

Minimum attendance of 3 days per week in the Aberdeen office
