About the Role

Bridgestone Group is partnering with a leading manufacturer based in South Wales to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer. The role involves ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will lead maintenance activities, drive continuous improvement, and serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee maintenance activities and ensure asset health

Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimise downtime

Contribute to process optimisation and proactive maintenance routines

Liaise with cross‑functional teams to integrate predictive maintenance insights

Troubleshoot complex engineering issues and lead root cause analysis

Promote compliance with QHSE policies and standards

Coach and mentor technicians to build a proactive maintenance culture

Shift Pattern

Day Shift, Monday to Friday

What We’re Looking For

Strong mechanical engineering background with experience in manufacturing or industrial environments

Proven ability to lead maintenance operations and drive improvements

Hands‑on problem‑solving approach and excellent communication skills

Familiarity with KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, and preventative maintenance compliance

Knowledge of EAM systems and predictive maintenance techniques
