As part of our Africa, Middle East & Turkey Public Policy organization, the Community Engagement & Advocacy team is responsible for designing, developing and launching regional strategies that focus on integrity and voice.
We are looking for a candidate who can build partnerships with the full complement of stakeholders, including civil society, academics, government and other social impact stakeholders. You should have demonstrable cross-functional team collaboration experience. You should have a clear understanding of driving forces around regulatory developments that may have an impact on voice and expression of our users, wider policy challenges our company faces, ambitious and creative ideas about how to address them, and the ability to fearlessly execute. You should be highly strategic, organized, collaborative and impact oriented and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. This position is full time and the location will be London.
Key Responsibilities include the following:
Regulation and Voice
Identify, create and implement proactive strategies with key cross functional teams on content regulation related issues.
Conceptualise, plan and execute thought leadership activities, including events participations, building and delivering narratives and research
Build and manage meaningful partnerships with civil society organizations and networks across the region.
Develop and work in cross functional work streams and demonstrate excellent project management skill and deliver on team objectives.
Build coalitions to help advance and support key policy issues across integrity, regulation and voice.
Apply strategic thinking in strategy building and also to the plan and implementation of projects in order to create demonstrable impact.
Integrity
Support, build and execute projects addressing on and off platform integrity risks. For example working with high risk users across Africa, Middle East & Turkiye
Work in partnership with the wider AMET Public Policy team on the strategy for building relationships with civil society, academics, human rights defenders
Innovation
Work with the team and cross functional team members to further amplify our innovation narratives internally and externally
Minimum Qualifications
Strong regulatory experience and skills in building and executing policy strategies in relation to regulatory developments.
Experience working with civil society and political systems/institutions, particularly those related to human rights, free expression, social justice, women's rights, health access, LGBTQIA rights, peace building.
Extremely strong experience designing and being responsible for implementing strategy through others, especially through cross-functional teams.
Impeccable integrity, passion for human rights and social impact, sound judgment, creativity and the demonstrated ability to think critically and challenge received wisdom
Ability to think, plan, and execute strategically, resourcefully, impactfully and creatively.
Passion for technology and its power to address issues related to social impact and human rights, as well as a deep understanding of the ways that technology and social media platforms operate in the region
Ability to travel frequently across the region
Superior written and oral communications skills
