Job Title:

Lead Cloud / DevOps Engineer

Location:

Leeds / Hybrid, 2x days per week

Salary:

£80,000-£95,000 + benefits

This is an excellent opportunity for a Cloud / DevOps Engineer seeking a full-time role within a modern, technology consultancy. You'll work on impactful client projects, building scalable, cloud-native infrastructure while expanding your skills across automation, IaC, and modern DevOps practices.

Lead Cloud / DevOps Engineer Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS, Azure or GCP.

Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration.

Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.

Support the operation of distributed systems, ensuring reliability, performance and security.

Contribute coding expertise in languages such as Python, Go or JavaScript.

Collaborate closely with clients and cross-functional teams, providing clarity and technical guidance throughout delivery.

Troubleshoot complex technical issues using structured debugging and problem-solving approaches.

Promote cloud-native best practices and modern DevOps tooling within engineering teams.

Lead Cloud / DevOps Engineer Requirements

Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and modern technical stacks.

Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform.

Experience with CI/CD tooling and automation platforms.

Practical programming experience in at least one mainstream language (Python, Go, JavaScript).

Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, security principles and distributed systems.

Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS).

Nice to have experience with AI assisted coding tools or agentic AI.

Strong leadership skills and mentorship experience

Strong communication, teamwork and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Analytical mindset with attention to detail, able to work effectively in evolving, complex environments.
