At Exemplar Health Care, our mission is simple, to make every day better for the people we support and the colleagues who care for them.

Data plays a vital role in helping us deliver safe, effective and meaningful care across our complex care homes.

We’re looking for a talented Data Scientist to help modernise, optimise and scale our data so we can deliver even smarter insights to our teams across the organisation.

About the role

As a Data Scientist, you’ll be responsible for developing machine learning models and designing AI‑driven workflows to process and extract value from data.

You’ll also create reusable features using SQL and Python to support scalable and consistent use across the company’s reporting infrastructure. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, testing and deploying predictive machine learning models within Azure (e.g., Azure ML, Azure AI Foundry).
  • Monitoring and evaluating model performance, implementing iterative improvements and retraining where required.
  • Designing and implementing AI‑driven workflows to analyse data and generate actionable insights across business areas.
  • Evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, bias and robustness, implementing guardrails and validation approaches where needed.
  • Developing and maintaining our Data Alerts product by implementing business‑rule based logic to generate accurate, timely flags and alerts from warehouse data, enabling stakeholders to take appropriate operational action and providing important features for predictive analytics.
  • Working with project teams to understand new data sources and how they can be integrated into new and existing products.

About you

Above all, you’re someone who identifies with our values of fun, integrity, responsiveness, success and teamwork.

You’ll also have:

  • A strong foundation in statistics, mathematics or data science, with the ability to apply these concepts to real‑world problems.
  • The ability to use SQL and Python confidently to explore, manipulate and analyse data from a variety of sources.
  • Understanding of core machine‑learning concepts and the ability to apply common techniques.
  • Curiosity about AI technologies (e.g., large language models) and an interest in how they can be applied in practical settings.
  • Critical thinking about data quality, assumptions and limitations when producing analysis or models.
  • Ability to learn quickly and proactively develop new technical skills, particularly in emerging data science and AI tools.

We’re looking for a candidate with a degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science or a related discipline. You’ll need experience progressing models from exploration to implementation, with exposure to deployment or operational use.

We offer great rewards and perks including:

  • Excellent supervision, peer support, learning opportunities and career prospects.
  • Retail and lifestyle discounts.
  • Free DBS check.
  • Electric car salary sacrifice scheme.
  • 24/7 counselling and support.
