Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting young people with additional and complex needs?

We are currently recruiting for a Full-Time Learning Support Assistant to join the Skills for Life department of a Further Education college in the Wirral . This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students to develop their independence, confidence and life skills within a college environment.

The role will involve working closely with students who have a range of additional and complex needs , providing both educational and practical support throughout the college day.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students within the Skills for Life department.

Support students with a range of learning difficulties, disabilities and complex needs .

Assist students to access their learning, activities and the wider college environment.

Encourage students to develop independence, confidence and essential life skills .

Provide support with communication, social interaction and emotional wellbeing where required.

Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure students receive appropriate support.

Support students during practical activities, trips and wider college activities.

Provide personal care support where required, including assistance with personal hygiene, toileting, dressing and other aspects of daily living.

Follow individual support plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.

Promote dignity, choice, independence and respect at all times.

Build positive and trusting relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
