Job Description

Join a major organisation undergoing a large-scale transformation, using data and technology to deliver meaningful impact at national scale. This is a key role within a modern AWS data environment, helping turn complex data into reliable, actionable insight.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Design, build and enhance scalable data pipelines and ETL solutions across AWS.
  • Develop robust batch and near real-time data processing capabilities.
  • Work with Python, SQL, Airflow, AWS Glue and Redshift to deliver reliable data solutions.
  • Improve platform performance, resilience and cost efficiency.
  • Build effective monitoring, alerting and support processes to keep data services running smoothly.
  • Promote strong engineering standards across code quality, automation, testing and documentation.
  • Partner with architecture, analytics and platform teams to deliver high-value data projects.
  • Help ensure data solutions meet governance, security and compliance standards.
  • Share knowledge, support colleagues and contribute to ongoing improvements across the engineering function.

Main Skills Needed:

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services, particularly Redshift, S3, Glue and Lambda.
  • Advanced SQL and Python capability.
  • Proven experience designing, developing and supporting data pipelines and ETL frameworks.
  • Practical knowledge of Airflow and Spark.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, data warehousing and performance optimisation.
  • Experience working with GitHub, CI/CD and Agile delivery.
  • Experience within a regulated environment would be advantageous.
  • Background in lottery, gaming or financial services would be a bonus.
