Engineering Site Manager

Job Description

This site runs 24/7, and you'd be embedded on-site as part of the customer's operation, with real accountability for how engineering performs here.Key responsibilitiesYou'll:Lead a team of 12 resident engineers, covering the site around the clockManage contractors on-site through permit-to-work and the customer's H&S planDeliver system uptime against agreed KPIs and keep service records up to dateDrive Planned Preventative Maintenance through the site's CMMSOwn line management, development, and annual appraisals for your teamIdentify lifecycle repair and replacement needs to support long‑term asset planningSupport the site's on‑call escalation rota, covering engineering issues outside normal hoursBuild a strong working relationship with the customer, communicating clearly at every levelWhat you'll bringEssentialHNC or equivalent in engineering, ideally with an electrical biasProven experience in an engineering and maintenance leadership roleIOSH or NEBOSH qualificationSolid working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements in an engineering environmentExperience managing contractors through a permit-to-work systemUseful, not essentialExperience with CMMS and PPM scheduling systemsBackground in conveyor or logistics automation environmentsExposure to Continuous Improvement or World Class Maintenance principlesConfidence managing purchasing for spares and consumablesBenefits & cultureFinancial: Current salary of £66,260, subject to review.Flexibility: One site, Monday to Friday, with a planned on‑call rota rather than constant reactive calls.Development: Real scope to shape Continuous Improvement and World Class Maintenance practice across the team.Working arrangementsWorking arrangementsLocation: Northampton, Northamptonshire | On-siteContract: Permanent | Full-time | Monday to Friday, exact hours confirmed at interviewOn-call: Participation in the site's escalation rota, supporting a 24/7 operation
