Working Hours: 1020 hours per week (term-time only)
Help a young person re-engage with Education!
R&R Tuition work in partnership with multiple local authorities to provide bespoke 1:1 SEND Tutor support for children and young people who are currently unable to access a mainstream school environment.
We seek engaging, interactive SEND Tutors (ideally with QTS, but not essential) to support various learners across and around the London Borough of Newham.
You'll work alongside young learners with a variety of additional needs, often including:
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
Autism
Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD)
Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
This SEND Tutor role would likely involve:
Providing individualised, face-to-face educational support to learners from Early Years through to KS4.
Delivering core-subject English, Maths and Science content, alongside personalised SEND-focused learning.
Using positive and proactive behaviour strategies to build trust and engagement.
Taking a nurturing and trauma-informed approach to meet the individual needs of each learner.
Completing initial academic and emotional assessments to establish appropriate outcome targets.
Recording and communicating detailed regular progress updates.
Monitoring and recording daily attendance.
Supporting learners to reintegrate back into mainstream, specialist or alternative education settings, where appropriate!
The Right SEND Tutor:
We are keen to hear from applicants who have experience supporting children and young people, ideally with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
This may be through teaching, private tuition, prior SEND Tutor roles, Youth work, Alternative Provision, or in pastoral settings.
As above, QTS is desirable, although we are also happy to consider those with at least a year of relevant, UK-based experience.
