Senior Mechanical Design EngineerRole: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Wanstead, London Salary: Negotiable - dependent on experience Job Type: Full-time - PermanentAre you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in building services, looking for an opportunity where you can take ownership of projects and play a key role in the growth of a developing engineering team?We are delighted to be supporting a well-established organisation based in Wanstead, who are looking to appoint a talented Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing Building Services team.The company works across a diverse range of sectors, including MOD, Healthcare, Commercial and Education, providing an excellent variety of projects and technical challenges.This is a collaborative and forward-thinking environment where technical excellence, innovation and high-quality design are genuinely valued.The RoleAs a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take responsibility for the mechanical design of multiple building services projects, working from initial concept through to completion.You will work closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams, providing technical expertise throughout the design and delivery process.There is also an opportunity for the successful candidate to play an important role in the continued development and growth of the mechanical design department as the business expands.Key ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical design across multiple projects from concept through to completion.Produce detailed mechanical calculations and technical specifications.Assist with technical drawings, with the ability to produce your own drawings where required.Coordinate closely with clients, architects and wider multidisciplinary teams.Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards, regulations and sustainability requirements.Attend site visits, surveys and client meetings as required.Provide technical input during design reviews and project planning.Manage your own workload and coordinate design stages across multiple projects.Contribute technical knowledge and ideas to improve project delivery.Support the continued growth and development of the mechanical design function.About YouThe successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical building services design, ideally with experience working across a variety of sectors.You will be technically capable, organised and confident working with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
