Java Technical Lead
Salary: Up to £80,000 + Benefits
Location: Wembley - Fully On-site

We're looking for an experienced Java Technical Lead to lead the development of modern, cloud-native applications and drive engineering best practices across a talented software team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of enterprise-grade Java applications using Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
Define and champion engineering best practices, coding standards, security principles, and quality assurance processes.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, supporting engineers in their professional growth and technical capability.
Conduct code reviews, identify technical debt, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with solution architects and stakeholders to translate high-level designs into scalable, production-ready solutions.
Ensure applications are built for cloud-native deployment, containerisation, and modern platform architectures.
Promote a strong automated testing culture across unit, integration, and contract testing.
Support the delivery of reliable CI/CD pipelines and contribute to deployment strategy and engineering processes.
Drive the adoption of secure development practices, observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.
Required Experience
Strong expertise in Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
Proven experience with REST APIs, OAuth2, and event-driven systems.
Experience with Azure services, including Key Vault, Storage, and Service Bus.
Strong understanding of Docker, containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines.
Passion for code quality, testing, and engineering excellence.
