Quality Engineer

Job Description

Are you a meticulous Quality Engineer with a passion for maintaining the highest standards in manufacturing? This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on product quality and compliance within a dynamic and highly regulated industry. Key duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality plans, inspection plans, and control plans for both new and existing products.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and DMAIC, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead investigations into internal non-conformance's customer complaints, and supplier quality issues.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined and achievable.
  • Participate in design reviews, process validation, and production readiness activities.
  • Monitor key quality metrics and analyse data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform process capability studies and statistical analysis using Statistical Process Control techniques.
  • Support internal, customer, and third-party audits and assist in maintaining audit readiness.
  • Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues and support supplier development initiatives.
  • Assist in the qualification and validation of manufacturing processes, equipment, and inspection methods.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Prepare quality reports and present findings to management and customers.
  • Ensure calibration, inspection, and testing activities are conducted in accordance with applicable procedures.
  • Support training of production personnel on quality standards, inspection methods, and quality awareness.

Skills and experience

  • Experience within the highly regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and quality assurance principles.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, AS9102, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Experience with quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, SPC, MSA, and PPAP.
