South Yorkshire & North NottinghamshireFull-time | Salary £40-50k + tronc + performance-related bonusHarper Inns is looking to meet exceptional General Managers as we continue to develop our growing collection of food-led pubs across South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire.We currently have an immediate General Manager opportunity within the group and are also keen to speak to outstanding operators who may be interested in future opportunities across the estate.We are not looking simply for someone who can run a shift.We want commercially minded, hands-on General Managers who take genuine ownership of their business — people who care equally about the guest experience, their team, the numbers and the standards of the building they operate.The roleAs a General Manager within Harper Inns, you will have responsibility for the overall performance of your pub, including:Leading, developing and retaining a strong management and front-of-house teamDelivering consistently excellent hospitality and service standardsWorking closely with the Head Chef to deliver a strong food operationManaging labour effectively and understanding the commercial impact of staffing decisionsTaking ownership of sales, GP, stock, purchasing and controllable costsRecruiting and developing great peopleMaintaining high standards throughout the buildingGrowing sales through local engagement, events and effective business developmentWorking closely with the Harper Inns operations team while having the autonomy to run your site as your own businessWho we're looking forYou may already be an established General Manager, or you could be an exceptional Deputy General Manager ready to take the next step.We're particularly interested in people with experience in quality, high-volume, food-led pubs, restaurants or similar hospitality businesses.More than anything, we're looking for someone with:Strong commercial awarenessHigh personal standardsExcellent leadership skillsConfidence managing a sizeable teamA proper understanding of hospitalityThe ability to identify problems and solve them without waiting to be toldEnergy, personality and a genuine desire to make their business betterHarper Inns is an independent and growing hospitality group.
