Assisting with sales/purchase ledgers and journals
Ensure VAT payments are carried out within deadlines
Oversee supplier statements and reconcile when required
Uploading invoices to accounting system for payments as and when required
Chase customer payments as and when required
Reconciling financial accounts and direct debits
Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
Ensure quarterly VAT returns are produced and submitted in relation to payments/receipts
Ensuring the smooth running of debts and payments
Assist with monitoring and balancing cash flow to meet obligations in line with credit control
Identifying efficiencies and opportunities for cost reductions across the business
To develop and document accounting policies/processes to strengthen internal controls
Ensure timely payments of PAYE, NI and corporation tax
Assist in preparing budget and financial forecasts and reporting any variances
Raise and control Purchase Orders as and when necessary
Reconciliation of credit card statements/receipts
Process staff expenses
Supporting Accounts Assistant with any other accounting tasks necessary during absences
What you'll need to succeed
You must have full right-to-work in the UK, alongside prior experience working within a UK finance team.
AAT Qualification, part-qualified ACCA, CIMA OR ACA or qualified by experience
What you'll get in return
A competitive salary of £34,000 - £40,000 per annum
