We are looking for an experienced SMT Operator to join a busy and growing team. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for setting up and operating SMT equipment, supporting the production of high-quality PCB assemblies. The successful candidate will have previous experience within an SMT environment and a good understanding of the full SMT assembly process.

SMT Operator Roles and Responsibilities:

Loading and setting up feeders for production

Setting up and loading PCBs for the production line

Setting up and operating paste stencil equipment

Creating and selecting programmes for production

Loading stencils and setting up existing programmes

Processing production jobs and cleaning stencils and associated tooling

Setting up and operating SMT machines

Creating machine programmes and carrying out job changeovers

Running production jobs and ensuring machines are set up correctly

Stripping down machines after production and returning components to kits in the correct order

Operating the reflow oven to produce assembled PCBs

Following work instructions and build documentation at all times

Maintaining high standards of quality throughout the production process

SMT Operator Ideal Candidate:

At least 2 years' experience in a similar SMT role

Good knowledge of PCB-level SMT component assembly

A basic understanding of PCB technologies

Good knowledge of SMT assembly processes

Experience reading and following work and build instructions

Experience working to IPC-A-610 standards would be an advantage

An understanding of Moisture Sensitivity Levels (MSL)

Good IT skills, including experience using machine control and programming software

The ability to learn new systems and software when required

SMT Operator Working Hours and Benefits:

Monday – Friday, 07:30 to 16:00 37.5 hours per week
