About the Role We are seeking an experienced Software Developer (Leadership) to join our software engineering team at our Farnborough facility. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will support a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions, providing guidance, code reviews, and technical mentorship while contributing to the execution of our software engineering strategy.
You will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
Key Responsibilities Support a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and hands-on support
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, ensuring the successful delivery of software projects on time and within scope
Assist in the professional growth and mentorship of team members through regular feedback, coaching, and career development planning
Contribute to the execution of the software engineering strategy, participating in strategic discussions and technology assessments
Manage project tasks and assignments, helping to prioritize and plan work to meet project goals and deadlines
Monitor project timelines, resource allocation, and budgets to ensure efficient project execution
Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, working to resolve issues as they arise
Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team
Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions to maintain code quality and best practices
Support the recruitment and onboarding of new team members
Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and professional experience)
Minimum 6+ years of relevant work experience in software engineering and development
