Accounts Assistant Location: Maidstone

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a public sector organisation based in Maidstone on a temporary basis. This role is to cover long-term sickness and requires an individual who is available for an immediate start and possesses a valid driving licence.
Day to day of the role: Assisting with the preparation of financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable.
Completing bank reconciliations and processing payroll.
Managing ledger entries and overseeing financial transactions.
Supporting the finance team with budget preparation and financial reporting.
Ensuring compliance with public sector financial regulations.
Handling queries related to accounts and providing financial information to staff members.
Assisting with end-of-month and year-end financial tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role.
Familiarity with public sector accounting practices and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and strong skills in MS Excel.
Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Must have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
