Financial Controller | Egham, Surrey | £70,000–£90,000Successful Family-Owned Multi-Site Group | Comprehensive Benefits | Senior Autonomous Role | Modern OfficesCommutable from: Staines-upon-Thames, Virginia Water, Windsor, Chertsey, Addlestone, Ascot, Sunningdale, Weybridge, Slough, Ashford, Shepperton and surrounding areas.An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller or Head of Finance to join a highly successful, established and privately owned multi-site Group in Surrey.Reporting directly to the owners and directors, you will take overall responsibility for the Group's finance function, providing accurate financial information and commercial insight to support decision‑making.This is a senior, autonomous role within a successful family‑owned business where your expertise will be trusted and your contribution will have a genuine impact. It would suit someone who enjoys being close to the business and taking ownership of a broad finance function.The RoleYou will oversee the finance team, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and effective financial management across the Group.Key responsibilities include:Taking overall responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of Group financial reportingPreparing and overseeing monthly management accounts and statutory accountsLeading budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planningReviewing performance against budget, identifying variances and providing commentary to the directorsProviding meaningful financial insight to support commercial and strategic decisionsMonitoring profitability and identifying opportunities to improve financial performanceReviewing and strengthening financial processes, policies and controlsManaging and supporting the finance team, ensuring workloads and deadlines are effectively managedCoordinating the annual audit and liaising with external accountants, auditors, banks, insurers, tax advisers and other professional advisersEnsuring appropriate financial, tax and regulatory compliance, including managing HMRC queriesReviewing payroll and maintaining appropriate recordsManaging insurance requirements and claims where requiredWorking closely with the directors on commercial, financial and ad hoc projectsAbout YouYou will be an experienced finance professional, ideally operating at Financial Controller, Head of Finance or equivalent level, with the confidence to take ownership while maintaining a commercially focused approach.Strong experience across management accounts, statutory reporting, budgeting and forecastingExcellent cash flow management and financial control skillsThe ability to interpret financial information and communicate it clearly to owners and senior managementExperience managing or supervising a finance teamA sound understanding of taxation, audit and financial complianceStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing prioritiesA practical, hands‑on and commercially minded approachThe confidence to work autonomously and build trusted relationships with the ownersIdeally, you will be fully qualified ACA, ACCA, ICAS, CIMA, SAICA or equivalent, with a strong track record in a senior finance position.
