Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor

Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor – Midlands

£45 per hour (outside IR35) + mileage + overnight accommodation + food allowance + extensive & interesting client portfolio + long‑term contract work.

This would suit a contract Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor who has other clients and is looking to add to their portfolio.

Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor responsibilities include:

Act as a Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor, visiting various Nuclear supply chain sites across the UK as required.

Responsible for undertaking quality Inspections / audit activities for a range of projects.

Conduct pre audit visits and gap analysis of fabricators around the UK who are looking to attain or requalify for ISO 9001

Ensure audit reports, finding evidence and auditor notes are submitted.

Ensure client non-conformities are closed, review and analyse client responses.

Provide answers to any requests arising during the technical review of files.

Ensure all quality and client records related to audit and certification activities are maintained and up to date.

Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor profile:

CSWIP 3.1/3.2

Previous or valid PCNs - combination of Radiographic, DPI, MPI and UT.

IRCA Auditor (International Register of Certificated Auditors).

Must have current & valid ISO 9001 External Auditing qualification

3yrs Lead Audit experience, ideally at least 1yrs' external Lead Audit background.

Auditing experience within the Nuclear Supply Chain / Fabrication / Oil & Gas or similar environments.

Good knowledge of Quality Management systems.

Experience assisting & organising audit teams beneficial.
