Location: Huntingdon & Biggleswade

Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE

Hours: Full-time, Permanent

Are you an experienced Technical Manager, Technical Engineer or Design Engineer with a background in manufacturing or construction products?

We're recruiting for a growing manufacturer looking for a hands‑on Technical Manager to take ownership of technical matters across two sites. This is a varied role combining technical design, product development, manufacturing support, compliance and problem‑solving, with the opportunity to have a real influence on product and process improvements.

What you'll be doing

• Acting as the technical point of contact for product, design, manufacturing and installation queries.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Producing and approving technical drawings and documentation.
• Supporting Sales and Estimating with complex quotations and customer requirements.
• Working closely with Manufacturing to resolve technical and production issues.
• Investigating product quality issues and identifying practical, long‑term solutions.
• Supporting new product development, testing and product improvements.
• Working with suppliers and Procurement on components, materials and alternative solutions.
• Maintaining product specifications and technical documentation.
• Ensuring products meet relevant UK regulations, standards and certification requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to improve quality, performance, efficiency and cost.

About you - You'll ideally have:

• Experience as a Technical Manager, Technical Engineer, Design Engineer or in a similar technical position.
• A strong understanding of technical drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Experience using CAD or technical design software.
• Strong technical problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of product testing, certification or regulatory compliance.
• A practical, commercially aware approach.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work across Sales, Manufacturing, Operations and suppliers.
• A full UK driving licence and flexibility to work across Huntingdon and Biggleswade.

Experience within windows, doors, glazing, aluminium, fenestration or construction products would be highly advantageous, although candidates from other relevant manufacturing environments will also be considered.
