Job Description

Delivering major marine infrastructure demands accurate setting out, strong site control and an engineer who understands how civils work comes together on the ground. As a Site Engineer, you’ll work on a substantial Fort William project covering new slipways, berthing infrastructure, earthworks, drainage and concrete works.

With accommodation provided alongside a vehicle and fuel card, this is particularly well suited to someone happy to work away during the week. The project has a 64-week programme, with an immediate start available and the initial contract expected to run for at least six months.

What’s in it for you

  • £300–£400 per day, depending on experience

  • Accommodation provided for the duration of the assignment

  • Van or Jeep supplied, including a fuel card and use for travel to and from home

  • Opportunity to work on a significant marine infrastructure and civils project

  • Potential for the initial six-month contract to be extended

  • Weekend overtime available, normally with a 1.5x uplift subject to agreement

Your responsibilities as Site Engineer

  • Carry out accurate setting out using EDM and GPS equipment

  • Monitor site works across earthworks, drainage, kerbing and reinforced concrete structures

  • Support delivery of two new slipways, an overnight berthing structure and associated parking and marshalling areas

  • Monitor works including dredging, sheet piling, concrete works and surfacing

  • Complete QA documentation and raise RFIs and ITPs as required

  • Help ensure work is delivered safely, accurately and in line with project requirements

What we’re looking for in a Site Engineer

  • Previous experience working on civil engineering projects involving earthworks, drainage, kerbing or reinforced concrete structures

  • Practical setting-out experience using EDM and GPS equipment

  • Experience completing QA documentation, RFIs and ITPs

  • Ability to monitor construction works against drawings, specifications and project requirements

  • Relevant civil engineering or construction qualifications

  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, with some Saturday working required. Weekend overtime arrangements to be agreed.
