tr th {}We’re working in partnership with a well-established, design-led civil and structural engineering consultancy in Nottingham to recruit a highly capable Principal Structural Engineer.This is a senior opportunity offering both technical leadership and strategic input, ideal for an experienced engineer looking to play a key role in project delivery, team development, and the continued growth of a respected regional business.RoleAs a Principal Structural Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of a broad range of structural engineering projects, while supporting senior leadership in managing clients, developing teams, and driving business performance.You’ll act as both a technical authority and a mentor, ensuring high standards across all aspects of delivery.ResponsibilitiesLead structural design on a range of projects across residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use sectorsOversee project delivery from concept through to completionReview and approve calculations, drawings, and technical reportsAct as a key point of contact for clients, architects, and contractorsProvide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to engineers and techniciansSupport business development, including client engagement and winning new workEnsure projects are delivered to programme, budget, and quality expectationsContribute to strategic decisions within the team and wider businessAbout youDegree qualified in Civil or Structural EngineeringChartered Engineer (CEng) with IStructE or ICEExtensive experience in structural design using a range of materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry)Proven track record in leading projects and managing design teamsStrong technical knowledge of UK codes and standardsExperience in client-facing roles and stakeholder managementCommercial awareness and a proactive approach to business developmentStrong leadership and communication skillsWhat’s on offerCompetitive senior-level salary and benefits packageFlexible and hybrid working optionsClear pathway towards Associate / Director levelOpportunity to play a key role in shaping a growing teamDiverse and technically challenging project portfolioSupportive, collaborative working environment
