IT Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £30,000 - 58,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong experience in IT infrastructure with a focus on server and virtualisation technologies
• Hands-on experience with VMware and virtualised environments
• Experience working with Windows Server in complex environments
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, stabilise and improve infrastructure systems
• Experience working in collaborative engineering teams and engaging with stakeholders
• Ability to take ownership, work autonomously and contribute to team success
• Willingness to learn and demonstrate the required level of experience

Responsibilities:

• Support and deliver server and virtualisation infrastructure solutions across key projects
• Migrate and optimise environments into VMware-based virtual stacks
• Collaborate with network engineers to stabilise and improve infrastructure environments
• Build, configure and integrate systems across physical and virtual platforms
• Produce technical documentation, test plans and implementation artefacts
• Engage with stakeholders and mentor junior engineers within the team
• Travel to the British Underwater Test and Evaluation Centre for essential installation and maintenance works every 2 to 3 months

This IT Infrastructure Engineer role is based at our Farnborough or Rosyth site, with a minimum average of three days per week on site and regular travel to the British Underwater Test and Evaluation Centre in Scotland.
