Job Description

Electrical Eningeers x 2 - Derby circa £55k plus market leading benefits package

Shift Work (Mornings/afternoons/nights - weekly rotation)

We’re recruiting proactive Electrical Engineers to join our clients high-performing team at in Derby. In this hands‑on role, you’ll be instrumental in maintaining and optimising high‑speed packaging and production lines ensuring products are manufactured and delivered to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You’ll tackle technical challenges head‑on, lead troubleshooting and CI activities, and take ownership of both planned and reactive maintenance. With a strong focus on safety, compliance, and performance.

Your responsibilities

  • Support and ensure lines are operating at maximum efficiency to meet production plans and quality standards
  • Lead and coordinate breakdown engineering activities and deliver right‑first‑time repairs
  • Define, plan, and execute maintenance tasks with timely and effective handovers
  • Complete root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions to reduce downtime
  • Log all maintenance and repair activities accurately into the CMMS system
  • Drive continuous improvement of equipment performance and support new projects
  • Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, and quality standards across the work area
  • Contribute to departmental R&M budget control and ensure targets are met
  • Take ownership of your training plan and support team development
  • Participate in internal and external audits and ensure full regulatory compliance

The experience we're looking for

  • Production line experience on high-speed packaging equipment in FMCG, food, or pharmaceutical sectors
  • Trained to an Electrical minimum craft level; ONC/HND preferred (17th Edition)
  • Skilled in fault finding and developing PLC programs (Siemens S5 and S7)
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC inverter drives and electrical systems in hazardous areas (COMPEX preferred)
  • 17th edition qualification advantageous but not essential
  • Mechanical and pneumatic awareness with strong IT skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and react quickly under pressure
  • Background in delivering high performance while leading from the front
  • Analytical mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with GMP and KPI-focused environments
