Job Description

Clarke Mairs is a leading law firm in Newcastle upon Tyne.

We are proud to provide comprehensive legal service to businesses and individuals across the UK, combining expertise with a practical approach to deliver exceptional results.

At Clarke Mairs, we specialise in commercial property, commercial law, litigation and insolvency law. Our firm has built a reputation for offering high-quality legal solutions that are both effective and cost-efficient. With years of experience and a client-focused ethos, we pride ourselves on delivering results that matter.

Our approach is straightforward: we listen carefully to our clients, understand their goals, and provide practical advice without unnecessary jargon. This commitment has earned us recognition from prestigious legal directories such as Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.

Our team is committed to providing expert advice and support across a range of legal areas, with a particular focus on property law.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated private client solicitor to join our growing team in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who is passionate about delivering first‑class client service and providing practical, tailored advice to individuals and families on a wide range of private client matters.

The successful candidate will manage their own varied caseload, advising clients on wills, trusts, probate, estate administration, powers of attorney, succession planning and the opportunity to do more court of protection. You will work closely with clients to understand their personal circumstances and objectives, providing clear, compassionate, and commercially minded guidance throughout.

As part of a well‑respected and collaborative firm, you will have the opportunity to develop strong client relationships, contribute to business development initiatives, and play an active role in the continued growth of our Private Client offering. We are looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding client care.

This role offers a supportive working environment, high‑quality work, and the opportunity to build a rewarding long‑term career with a firm that is recognised for its expertise, practical approach, and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for its clients.
