Join an established specialist engineering business providing machinery engineering, service and repair solutions to customers across the UK.

This is a varied position combining hands-on mechanical engineering knowledge with machinery inspection, design, fault diagnosis and technical reporting. You'll work across both workshop and customer-site environments, taking responsibility for engineering projects from initial inspection through to repair recommendations, commissioning and ongoing support.

The role would suit an experienced Mechanical Engineer from a heavy engineering, industrial machinery, special-purpose machinery or engineering service background who can combine strong practical knowledge with mechanical design and technical engineering expertise.

Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities

Lead mechanical machinery inspections, servicing and repair programmes.

Diagnose complex mechanical faults and carry out root-cause investigations.

Assess machinery condition and recommend appropriate repairs or engineering modifications.

Support the design and modification of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Apply knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication and mechanical assembly techniques.

Supervise workshop and customer-site engineering activities.

Support machinery installation, commissioning and condition-monitoring programmes.

Produce detailed technical reports covering findings, conclusions and engineering recommendations.

Work closely with Mechanical Fitters and Technicians throughout repair and engineering projects.

Communicate technical findings clearly with customers and other stakeholders.

Travel to customer sites throughout the UK when required.

What We're Looking For

Minimum 5 years' relevant mechanical engineering experience.

Strong background within industrial machinery, heavy engineering or a related engineering service environment.

Experience with machinery inspection, servicing, repair and fault diagnosis.
