IT Support Engineer (1st and 2nd line support) – Initial 2-Month Contract (Potential Extension)

Start Date: ASAP

OUTSIDE IR35

A leading organisation is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented IT professional for an initial 2-month contract, with the possibility of extension depending on workload. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys hands‑on technical challenges.

The focus:

You will be supporting a Windows 11 upgrade project, which includes replacing memory and hard disks in laptops undergoing the upgrade. Prior experience with similar hardware tasks will be advantageous.

Key responsibilities

Act as the first point of contact for IT-related issues, delivering exceptional customer service
Log, diagnose, and resolve technical issues following ITIL processes
Provide hands‑on troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues
Assist with laptop/desktop setup, configuration, and maintenance
Support IT projects, including system upgrades and hardware refreshes
Ensure adherence to cybersecurity best practices

What is required

1–3 years’ experience in IT support (1st & 2nd line support)
Comfortable with hardware upgrades (memory and disk replacement)
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows, and macOS
Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently
Excellent communication and a positive, “can‑do” attitude
