You'll work with a reasonable degree of autonomy, contributing to infrastructure automation, pipeline reliability, and platform improvements, while collaborating closely with senior engineers, data engineers, and the wider delivery team.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the build, deployment, and maintenance of infrastructure for Azure-based data platformsWork with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake to support data pipeline infrastructure and platform reliabilityDevelop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using TerraformBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, supporting automated build, test, and deployment workflowsCollaborate with data engineers and product teams to ensure infrastructure meets platform and data requirementsSupport the implementation and maintenance of monitoring, alerting, and observability across the data platformIdentify, investigate, and help resolve infrastructure and pipeline issuesFollow and support security standards, change management, and release governance processesParticipate in sprint planning, refinement, and other agile ceremoniesSupport continuous improvement of automation, platform reliability, and DevOps practicesTake a proactive approach to identifying risks, technical debt, and opportunities for improvement, escalating to senior engineers where appropriateRequired Skills & ExperienceExperience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Data Infrastructure Engineering roleHands-on experience with Azure cloud servicesExperience with Azure Data FactoryExperience with Azure Synapse AnalyticsExperience with Azure Data LakeExperience with Terraform for infrastructure as codeExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLabA proactive, self-motivated approach, comfortable identifying issues and improvements rather than waiting to be directedComfortable working within established processes and escalating appropriately, while developing toward greater independent ownershipStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesNice to HaveExperience with DatabricksExperience with KafkaExperience with Kafka ConnectAdditional InformationSFIA Level: 4Security Clearance: SC Eligible requiredLocation: Newcastle, Blackpool, Manchester, or Leeds (in-office one day per week)Our Interview ProcessWe keep things straightforward.
