Residential Support Worker – Hinckley, Leicestershire

Are you looking for a new challenge in residential care? Do you enjoy working with children and young people, making a positive impact on their lives? We are seeking dedicated Residential Support Workers to join a new Safeguarding Home in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This full-time, permanent role offers a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people aged 8-18 who face risks such as exploitation, helping them develop confidence, independence, and social skills.

About the Role

Based in Hinckley, the Residential Support Worker will work on a 10pm – 8:15am shift pattern, with four shifts on and four shifts off. The role involves creating a safe, nurturing environment for up to three service users at a time, ensuring their wellbeing and safety while promoting their social and emotional development. You will build trusted relationships through positive engagement, work collaboratively with families and professionals, and contribute to the day-to-day running of the home.

Key Responsibilities

* Developing trusting, nurturing relationships with children and young people to promote independence and confidence

* Working in partnership with parents, carers, and external professionals

* Supporting daily activities, including meal preparation, cleaning, and household tasks

* Documenting information accurately, maintaining detailed records in line with safeguarding policies

* Ensuring a safe and secure environment at all times and adhering to safeguarding procedures

Essential Requirements

* Valid UK driver’s licence and access to own vehicle

* Relevant experience working with children and young people in a residential setting

* Willingness to achieve or already possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare

* Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
