Senior Software Engineer (C/C++) - Stevenage, Hertfordshire

Hybrid - Stevenage


A leading technology company developing cutting-edge test & measurement solutions for global networks is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (C/C++) to join its growing R&D team.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, working closely with product, sales, and marketing teams to turn real-world customer requirements into high-performance, innovative software solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex systems within a fast-paced, product-focused environment.


The Role - Senior Software Engineer (C/C++) - Stevenage, Hertfordshire

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex backend software solutions with full end-to-end ownership
  • Translate high-level requirements into scalable, maintainable system designs
  • Contribute to system architecture and ongoing product evolution
  • Develop high-quality, performant software to agreed timescales
  • Collaborate closely with product owners and cross-functional teams
  • Support testing and quality-focused activities to ensure excellent product delivery
  • Mentor and support junior engineers within the team


Key Skills & Experience - Senior Software Engineer (C/C++) - Stevenage, Hertfordshire

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
  • 5+ years’ experience in software development
  • Strong C/C++ programming and object-oriented design skills
  • Experience working in a Linux environment (GNU tools such as gcc, gdb)
  • Network programming and multithreading experience
  • Python programming knowledge
  • Proven ability to break down complex problems and deliver solutions
  • Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
