DevOps Engineer

Job Description

This is a remote position.Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to help build, automate, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure software development and deployment environments. The DevOps Engineer will work closely with development, operations, cloud, and security teams to streamline software delivery, improve system reliability, and automate infrastructure and deployment processes.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, testing, and deployment processes.Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure across platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Infrastructure as Code tools.Deploy, configure, and manage containerized applications using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability and troubleshoot infrastructure or deployment issues.Implement and maintain security, access controls, backup, and disaster recovery practices within DevOps environments.Collaborate with software developers to improve application deployment, scalability, and operational efficiency.Maintain documentation for infrastructure, deployment processes, configurations, and operational procedures.Identify opportunities to improve automation, reduce manual processes, and increase deployment efficiency.Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis to prevent recurring production issues.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.2+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, systems administration, software engineering, or a related technical role.Hands-on experience with CI/CD concepts and tools.Experience working with Linux/Unix-based operating systems and command-line environments.Experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Understanding of networking, security, system administration, and software development lifecycle principles.Experience with version control systems such as Git.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.Preferred SkillsExperience with Docker and Kubernetes.Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or CloudWatch.Understanding of DevSecOps practices and cloud security principles.Experience with microservices and distributed systems.Relevant cloud or DevOps certifications are an advantage.Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical teams.
