The Role

A leading investment firm is looking for a Data Engineer to join a team responsible for delivering the datasets that power research, analytics and trading workflows across the business.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building reliable data solutions, working closely with technical and business users, and taking ownership of data from acquisition through to production consumption. You'll be involved in shaping how data is sourced, transformed, monitored and delivered across a sophisticated investment environment.

The firm offers the opportunity to work with large and diverse datasets, modern technology, and a highly collaborative environment where engineering work has a direct impact on investment outcomes. Specific compensation and benefits details are available on request.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines that support investment research and business-critical processes.
  • Automate the onboarding and processing of new datasets to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Contribute to the design and enhancement of the firm's broader data architecture and tooling.
  • Monitor data feeds, investigate issues and help ensure high levels of data integrity.
  • Work with a variety of internal stakeholders to understand requirements and support data-driven decision making.
  • Help establish controls and validation processes to improve data quality and coverage.

What You Bring

  • Strong Python development skills with an interest in data-focused engineering work.
  • Experience building, supporting or improving automated data pipelines.
  • Exposure to cloud environments, ideally AWS.
  • Familiarity with source control and collaborative software development practices.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to understand end-user requirements.
  • Exposure to databases, data lake technologies or financial datasets would be beneficial, but is not essential.

The Package

Competitive base salary, annual bonus and benefits package.
