Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting on behalf of an established precision engineering business in South Devon for an experienced CNC Sliding Head Turner, Programmer, Setter and Operator .
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience working on Star and Citizen sliding-head machinery who is looking for a long-term, permanent position within a specialist manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Programming, setting and operating CNC sliding-head machinery.

Working with Star and Citizen machines.

Programming using Fanuc controls.

Producing precision, fine-tolerance components.

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

Carrying out quality checks and maintaining high production standards.

Working with small-diameter/fine-tube components.

Supporting efficient production and maintaining machine performance.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced CNC machinist with a strong background in sliding-head/Swiss-type machining.
You should have:
Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC sliding-head machines.

Experience with Star SJ10 and/or SW12 machines.

Experience with Citizen machinery.

Good knowledge of Fanuc controls.

CNC programming skills.

The ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.

The ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

A methodical approach to quality and precision.

Experience within electronics, opto-electronics , or other high-precision manufacturing environments would be advantageous.
