Job Description

Are you an experienced laboratory professional looking for your next opportunity, or a science graduate with hands-on industry experience? We're recruiting an Analytical Development Chemist to join a successful manufacturing business in Liverpool, supporting quality assurance, product testing, and continuous improvement activities within a fast-paced environment.

Location: Liverpool

Job Type: Temporary

Pay Rate: £20.60 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Perform analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.

Support the development, validation, and continuous improvement of analytical and quality control methods.

Ensure products consistently meet quality, food safety, and customer requirements.

Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.

Accurately record, analyse, and report test results.

Assist with quality investigations and the resolution of customer queries.

Manage laboratory consumables, chemicals, and retained samples.

Ensure compliance with COSHH, Health & Safety, and food safety standards.

Contribute to laboratory improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives.About You

Previous experience working in a laboratory environment carrying out analytical testing.

Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Able to manage competing priorities within a busy manufacturing setting.

Effective communication and organisational skills.

Passionate about quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.Desirable Skills & Experience

Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline.

Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, or another regulated industry.

Knowledge of analytical instrumentation, calibration, and validation processes.

Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
