Fire & Security Engineer Salary: Up to £24 per hour / £49,920 basic + overtime + call-out payments

Location: Oxford, Cheltenham, Swindon, Reading & M4 Corridor

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday + 1 in 12 call-out rota

Our client is looking for an experienced multi-skilled Fire & Security Engineer to join a well-established engineering team covering a manageable regional patch across Oxford, Cheltenham, Swindon, Reading and the M4 Corridor. This is not a service-only position. You'll be trusted to work independently across a varied workload including fault finding, repairs, remedials, maintenance and small works. You'll therefore need solid hands-on experience across fire alarms, CCTV, access control and intruder systems , together with the confidence to attend call-outs and complete single-engineer remedial works. The original specification also highlights ongoing manufacturer and systems training, with engineers not expected to arrive knowing every panel or product used by the business.

Job Description Carry out fault finding, repairs, remedial works, maintenance and small installations across Fire & Security systems.

Work confidently across fire alarms, CCTV, intruder and access control/door entry systems .

Diagnose faults and complete repairs independently on customer sites.

Undertake small works and system upgrades rather than purely planned service visits.

Liaise directly with customers, explaining faults and technical solutions clearly.

Complete risk assessments, reports and associated documentation accurately.
