About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our growing team supporting the delivery of major projects in the Anglian Water region.

As a Mechanical Project Engineer , working closely with the Mechanical Lead, you will be responsible for the delivery and technical governance of mechanical packages, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget. You will manage mechanical procurement packages throughout the full project lifecycle, from design and procurement through to installation, commissioning and handover, ensuring compliance with client requirements, industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Manage mechanical procurement packages from specification through to installation, commissioning and handover.

Produce scopes of work and manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.

Oversee equipment selection, including pumps, valves, penstocks, lifting equipment and associated mechanical systems.

Monitor package costs, programme performance and project risks, ensuring targets are achieved.

Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces across the project team.

Carry out site surveys, inspections, FATs, SATs and witness testing to ensure quality and compliance.

Review and approve subcontractor designs, technical submissions and installation documentation.

Manage defects, maintenance activities and project close-out during the defects liability period.

Support planning, reporting and change management activities.

Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance are maintained throughout project delivery.

Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
