Role Overview

This role has been created to support a critical expansion initiative within the organisation. As a pivotal member of the technical team, the Software Engineer will play a strategic role in developing and maintaining essential software systems. This is a unique chance to work on high-profile projects that require advanced security clearance and technical prowess. Your expertise will directly influence the success of the organisation’s mission-critical objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software applications in line with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of software components.
  • Contribute to source code management and version control practices using tools such as Git.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, utilising platforms like GitLab, Jenkins, or AWS CodeCommit.
  • Implement unit testing frameworks to ensure software robustness and reliability.
  • Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement activities.
  • Proven experience in software development using Java and C++.
  • Proficiency with Spring Boot and reactive programming (e.g., Spring Reactive).
  • Familiarity with source control management, particularly Git.
  • Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, CodeCommit).
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit tests, preferably in Python.
  • Security clearance at the SC level or higher.
  • Experience with ElasticSearch, Kibana, or MongoDB.
  • Knowledge of messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Familiarity with ScalaTest or similar testing frameworks.
  • Exposure to scalable architectures and cloud technologies.
