Workshop Operative
Our client, a successful manufacturing business are currently seeking a Mechanical Assembly Operative to join their team.
This is a full time permanent position, working in Norwich.
Hours:
Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Overtime is also available
The ideal candidate will have engineering bias and will be of a practical nature and work ethic. You will have solid experience using hand tools
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Highly organised and able to work under high pressure during busy periods.
Be able to reliably commute to the Norwich site
Have a flexible approach to working hours and be able to work extended hours when required.
Clean or near clean driving license is preferable
Good understanding of engineering drawings , methods and terminology.
Strong understanding of the principles of engineering and good working practices.
Ability to make basic calculations around material dimensions and specifications without the use of a calculator
Adaptable, reliable, tolerant and determined.
Key Responsibilities:
To assist with or complete the construction, production and assembly of cases and affiliated products using a variety of hand tools or power tools .
To fabricate and assemble sub-assemblies with sufficient lead time to enable others to complete more complex products as scheduled
Liaise with the Workshop Manager, to implement work schedules to ensure the timely completion of all sales orders
Ensure a high standard of quality production with continuous improvement, reporting any problems or potential problems to the Workshop Manager
