Maintenance Engineer

About the Role We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our friendly team in a private care home. This is a full-time position, with occasional visits to other care home sites when additional support is required to ensure compliance, safety, and high standards of maintenance are maintained across our environments. Key Responsibilities General Internal Maintenance: furniture, fixtures and fittings, equipment basic heating faults General Exterior: Maintain grounds & gardens, fences and furniture, clear snow and grit paths, clean all signs & lighting. Safety: Identify hazards and risks, testing of fire alarm, liaise with contractors onsite, maintain a maintenance book. Ensure paints & varnishes are stored correctly, test and record water temps Moving & Handling: assisting receiving deliveries and storage General duties as requested by the home manager or maintenance manager Our ideal Maintenance Engineer will have the following: Essential Experience of DIY and decorating Caring nature Strong communication skills Ability to work as part of a team and individually Flexibility and be able to adapt to the needs of Residents Full clean driving licence A Health & Safety or Maintenance qualification is desirable Previous experience within a Care or Nursing Home setting or similar What We Offer Competitive salary of £35,000-£45,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
