Sapien are looking for a Applications Engineer for an established engineering business that designs, manufactures and integrates industrial process and plant equipment. Near Desborough.
This role is to support the Sales and Engineering teams, producing 2D and 3D plant layouts and developing practical engineering solutions for customer projects.
You’ll use SolidWorks and 2D CAD to create layouts, equipment arrangements and customer presentations, while working closely with Sales, Projects, Engineering and R&D.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce 2D and 3D plant layouts using SolidWorks and CAD.
* Develop equipment configurations and engineering solutions for customer enquiries.
* Create accurate, professional layouts that optimise space and material flow.
* Produce 3D visuals, presentations and flow diagrams for customers.
* Support Sales with tenders, proposals and technical information.
* Attend customer sites when required.
* Produce engineering and manufacturing drawings for projects.
About You
* Experience using SolidWorks and 2D CAD.
* Background in mechanical engineering, applications engineering, machinery, manufacturing or process equipment.
* Experience producing GA drawings, plant layouts or equipment designs.
* Good understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing.
* Able to understand customer requirements and turn them into practical designs.
* Experience with 3D visualisation, industrial plant, material handling, BOMs/ERP or special-purpose machinery would be advantageous...
