Teaching Assistant Full-Time & Long-Term School Opportunities

Location: Derby & surrounding areas

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am 3:30pm

Contract: Long-term, temporary and potential temp-to-perm opportunities

Pay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience

Do you have experience working with children, young people, vulnerable adults, or individuals who require additional support?

Enlightenment Education is looking for reliable, confident and caring people to work as Teaching Assistants in schools across Derby and the surrounding areas.

We work closely with mainstream schools, SEND provisions and specialist settings, supporting children with a wide range of additional needs. You don't necessarily need previous school experience , but you do need to have something valuable to bring to the role.

What we're looking for We're particularly interested in people who have:

Strong communication skills

Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals

Experience with SEND, autism, ADHD, SEMH or behavioural needs desirable but not essential

Previous experience in education, care, youth work, sports, counselling, psychology, social care or similar settings

Patience, resilience and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations

Confidence communicating with children, staff and other professionals

A genuine interest in helping children develop and succeed

Reliability and a professional approach

The ability to build positive relationships and work as part of a team

Transferable skills are very welcome. We have successfully placed people from a variety of backgrounds, but we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate how their previous experience would benefit children in a school environment.

What you'll be doing Depending on the school and individual needs, your role could include:

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis

Working within a SEND hub or specialist provision
