Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be accountable for:
Undertaking power system studies to identify constraints
Creative system design and modelling of potential solutions to those constraints
Documenting those constraints and design solutions
Working as part of a team with customers and external & internal stakeholders to mitigate network constraints and develop solutions related to power requirements
Key Competencies
A detailed understanding of the EHV, HV and/or LV electricity distribution networks
Deliver quality outputs to required deadlines
An understanding of operation the electricity distribution assets
Communication – able to communicate in an effective and persuasive manner
Customer Service – able to deliver effective customer service both internally and externally
Team working – able to work with others in a flexible manner
IT Skills – able to use a variety of analytical software and engineering packages to produce electrical designs and update databases
Understand and work within the regulated industry
Qualifications and Attributes
Essential Qualifications and Experience
HNC in Electrical Power Engineering
Knowledge of distribution networks for load and generation connections
Full UK driving licence
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Undergraduate degree in Electrical Power Engineering
Knowledge of appropriate design policies and codes of practice
A working knowledge of a Distribution Network Operators design processes
Knowledge of appropriate design codes of practice.
Power system analysis using IPSA/DINIS/ETAP/PowerFactory
