Operations Manager

Trade-Mart is a growing supplier of landscaping, gardening, workwear and industrial products, serving both trade and retail customers across the UK. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service, efficient operations and high-quality products through our warehouse, trade counter and online sales channels.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised and hands-on Operations Manager to help lead our day-to-day operations and support our continued growth.

The Role

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of our warehouse and trade counter. You'll work closely with the management team, oversee warehouse operations, support staff and ensure our customers receive the highest level of service.

We're looking for someone who enjoys being involved, leads by example and is always looking for ways to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the warehouse and trade counter.
• Plan and prioritise daily workloads.
• Prepare, allocate and monitor customer orders for dispatch.
• Assist with picking, packing and dispatching orders when required.
• Receive, check and organise incoming deliveries.
• Ensure stock is stored correctly and the warehouse remains organised, clean and safe.
• Identify areas where additional support is required and proactively assist the team.
• Supervise warehouse staff and help maintain productivity and accuracy.
• Serve customers at our trade counter, offering friendly advice and helping them source the products they need.
• Liaise with office staff to ensure orders, stock and customer enquiries are managed efficiently.
• Monitor warehouse performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.

About You

We're looking for someone who is motivated, practical and enjoys taking responsibility.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a supervisory, warehouse or operations management role.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Good computer skills and confidence using business software.
• The ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads.
• A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.
• A hands-on attitude and willingness to support the team wherever needed.
• A full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills

• Forklift Truck Licence (preferred but not essential).
• Experience within a builders' merchant, industrial supplier, warehouse or distribution environment.
• Stock control or inventory management experience.

Working Hours

This is a full-time permanent position. Working hours are primarily Monday to Friday; however, flexibility is essential as occasional evening or weekend working may be required to meet the needs of the business.
