We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our established maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in machine maintenance, fault finding, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and continuous improvement to develop their career within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As a key member of the engineering team, you will play a vital role in ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of plant machinery and equipment, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvements to maximise equipment uptime and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with the maintenance schedule.
* Respond promptly to machine breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
* Perform mechanical and basic electrical maintenance on production plant and machinery.
* Fault find and repair mechanical systems including gearboxes, bearings, drives and associated equipment.
* Diagnose and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
* Work collaboratively with on-site contractors and remote service engineers during maintenance activities and equipment installations.
* Accurately record maintenance activities, breakdown reports and completed work using the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
* Monitor and maintain stock levels of critical spare parts, ensuring availability to support production.
* Assist with equipment installations, upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
* Mentor and support engineering apprentices, sharing knowledge and promoting engineering best practice.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety policies and engineering standards.
* Contribute to improving equipment reliability, efficiency and overall manufacturing performance.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working as part of a close-knit engineering team, and making a real impact on production performance.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
