Brake Refinement Engineer – VARITE INC – Gaydon UK

WHAT THE CLIENT DOES? Our client is a global design and technology services company that provides services to various industries, including automotive, broadcast, communications, healthcare, and transportation. They offer engineering, research, and design (ER&D) services, focusing on software development, system integration, and support.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Location: Gaydon UK
Duration: 12 months fixed term employment

  • Proven experience in automotive brake system refinement and NVH engineering.
  • Hands‑on experience with vehicle testing and instrumentation for brake NVH.
  • Proficiency in NVH measurement systems (HEAD Acoustics, LMS, Polytec) and brake dynamometer testing.
  • Strong CAE skills in FEA (3Dx, Altair, Abaqus) for brake system analysis.
  • Competence in data acquisition and signal processing tools (Artemis, Link, LMS).
  • Knowledge of brake system design, materials, and thermal behaviour.
  • Experience in structured problem‑solving (8D, RCA) and quality tools.
  • Experience in thermal performance analysis of brake systems.
  • Familiarity with pedal feel and brake system performance tuning.
  • Exposure to whole vehicle NVH development
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety principles (for mechatronic brake systems)

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO WIN:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or related Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Industry Standard Advanced Driver Training
  • Eligibility to travel freely across Europe without additional visa requirements (flexibility to work in varied climates).
