Base pay range

Mechanical Shift Engineer – Moorgate – £54,000

Location: Moorgate, City of London

Shift Pattern: Continental Shift Days and nights (4 on 4 off, 6 on 6 off)

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join a leading FM Service Provider at a prestigious banking contract located in the heart of the City of London. This is an excellent role for a skilled engineer looking to further develop their career in a dynamic environment.

As a Mechanical Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of mechanical services, ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest standards. You will work alongside a dedicated maintenance team and be involved in both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across the building.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily PPM and reactive maintenance tasks across mechanical services.
• Respond to emergency callouts in line with KPIs and SLAs.
• Maintain mechanical equipment and services to ensure smooth operation.
• Carry out plumbing, pipework repairs, and minor fabric work when required.
• Manage procurement of materials and equipment to complete maintenance tasks.
• Supervise subcontractors when necessary.
• Assist the Lead Engineer and Account Manager in meeting all statutory and legislative requirements.
• Ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and operational KPIs.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• City & Guilds Mechanical Qualifications (or equivalent)
• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within commercial buildings
• Experience working in a shift-based role
• Ability to take part in the call-out rota
• Strong problem-solving and technical skills
